In Design

I am finding it really hard to work in In Design at the moment as there are so many options and things I can do and I don't know how to use them. I'm quite lost. I am pretty sure it's not hard, just need to get used to it!!

I tried to create the first article, using what I know from Photoshop and my silly mock-ups and this is what I have got so far:

This is incomplete, of course. I am a bit confused because I don't know exactly what rules apply to the grid. Even if I did some research I am scared to not break the grids so I don't know exactly what I am supposed to do and what not. 

I feel like what I have done so far has taking me too much. Whether it's because I don't know how to work in In Design or because this is how it supposed to take, I feel like I need to watch some tutorials to make my life easier.

That's the first one I have watched. I actually learnt many tricks and useful things that I am going to use. Having that in mind, I want to redo the article above.
